  • How do I apply for a program?
  • There are several methods for potential students to apply:
    • Complete the online application form found on this website under "registration".
    • Print the application form found on this website under "registration" and mail or fax the college. (see contact information)
    • Contact the college via phone or email and book an appointment to speak with MBC Admissions.
  • What documentation should I submit with my application?
  • All applications must be accompanied by:
    • An official high school transcript (most recent)
    • Resume
    • $100 Registration Fee
  • What are the entrance requirements for my program?
  • All MBC programs require Grade 12 or equivalent, and successful completion of an interview with an MBC Admissions Representative.

    Mature Student Policy

    Applicants who do not meet admissions requirements as detailed in Section 8 of the General Regulations of the Private Career Colleges Regulation Act may be admitted to a program under mature student status provided the following conditions are met:
    • The applicant is at least a twenty-one (21) years of age and has been out of school for a minimum of one year.
    • The applicant participates in an interview process with a designated admission’s representative of the private career college.
    • The applicant will provide the following documentation:
      • School transcripts
      • Letter outlining goals and action plan for success
      • Personal resume
      • Three letters of reference
  • When does the next class start?
  • All programs begin in September with the exception of the Small Business Development course at Maritime Business College, and the Esthetics course in New Minas. Please contact MBC Admissions for details on intake dates.

  • What is the application deadline?
  • MBC will accept applications until a program is full or begins, whichever comes first.

  • How long is my program?
  • All programs are 10 months in duration with the exception of Small Business Development program, which is 5 month in length; Nail Technology, which is 8 weeks in length; and Makeup Artistry, which is 8 weeks in length.

  • How do I get more information about Student Loans?
  • An MBC Admissions Representative will help you identify a student loan that works for you.

  • Do you have part-time / evening courses?
  • All MBC Diploma programs are full-time/daytime classes only.

  • What are class hours?
  • Classes in Dartmouth are Monday to Friday- 8:30 am - 4:00 pm*
    Classes in Halifax are Monday to Friday - 8:30 am - 3:30 pm*
    *Class hours are subject to change

  • Do I need a computer at home?
  • No. MBC has 2 fully equipped computer labs in each campus, allowing you the opportunity to complete computer work at school.

  • I’m not sure what I want to do or which program I would like to take. What should I do?
  • Contact that college and ask to speak with someone in Admissions. They will discuss your options with you.

  • I am a graduate of MBC, and I recently lost my job. Can you help?
  • MBC has lifetime job placement assistance for all graduates. If you find yourself out of work, notify MBC Student Services. MBC is continually informed of job opportunities for graduates, and may have a new opportunity for you.

  • Do you have a residence for students to live in?
  • No. However, all of our campuses are located in residential areas, with rental and boarding opportunities. Contact MBC Admissions and they will assist you in finding accommodations.
